A shortcut to save the planet: Save water

Why? Because the world, which has had almost to the drop the same amount of water on it since dinosaurs roamed, is quickly running out of its available freshwater -- what we use for drinking, bathing, and irrigating. And that means life is about to change dramatically for all of us.

In the United States, we're already seeing the water crisis encroach: Wildfires, droughts, and rationing are spreading throughout the country. We're growing fewer crops and raising fewer livestock. With less water comes less food, and the chain of events gets real serious real fast. And that's here in relatively prosperous America.

Current trends of overconsumption, pollution, and climate change are leading to a situation where two-thirds of the global population will face severe water shortages by 2025.
